Για τρίτη συνεχόμενη χρονιά πραγματοποιήθηκε με μεγάλη επιτυχία το Πανευρωπαϊκό Συνέδριο Επιχειρηματικότητας, Startup Europe Week Crete, το οποίο διοργανώνεται στην Κρήτη από τον τοπικό πρεσβευτή Youth Entrepreneurship Club (Σύλλογος Νεανικής Επιχειρηματικότητας) και την Ευρωπαϊκή Επιτροπή / Startup European Committee με συνδιοργανωτή την Περιφέρεια Κρήτης.
Το Startup Europe Week Crete φέτος ταξίδεψε στα Χανιά (2 Μαρτίου), στο Ρέθυμνο (3 Μαρτίου), στον Άγιο Νικόλαο (9 Μαρτίου) και ολοκλήρωσε το ταξίδι του στις 10 Μαρτίου στην πόλη του Ηρακλείου, με σκοπό την εξάπλωση της κουλτούρας της επιχειρηματικότητας σε όλη την Κρήτη.
Τη φετινή χρονιά η θεματική του Συνεδρίου ήταν “Αναπτύσσοντας το επιχειρηματικό οικοσύστημα στην Κρήτη”. Κοινό και ομιλητές εμπνεύστηκαν, δικτυώθηκαν, μοιράστηκαν εμπειρίες και δημιούργησαν προτάσεις για την ανάπτυξη του επιχειρηματικού startup οικοσυστήματος στην Κρήτη!
Πιο συγκεκριμένα, το Startup Europe Week Crete 2018 περιελάμβανε ομιλίες, πάνελ στρογγυλής τραπέζης, workshops, διαγωνισμούς και κλειστές παρουσιάσεις σε angel investors. Συνολικά στη διοργάνωση πήραν μέρος πάνω από 1000 συμμετέχοντες, 23 ομιλητές, 60 εθελοντές, 20 μέντορες και πραγματοποιήθηκαν περισσότερες από 25 ώρες ομιλιών και workshops, όπου δόθηκαν βραβεία συνολικής αξίας 4000 ευρώ. Είναι σημαντικό να τονιστεί ότι η όλη διοργάνωση βασίστηκε στην προσπάθεια των εθελοντών του Youth Entrepreneurship Club (Σύλλογος Νεανικής Επιχειρηματικότητας) καθώς και στην υποστήριξη 50 τοπικών και πανελλαδικών φορέων.
Στο πλαίσιο της δράσης εκφράστηκαν περισσότερες από 100 νέες επιχειρηματικές ιδέες, τις οποίες συζήτησαν, επεξεργάστηκαν και ανέπτυξαν οι συμμετέχοντες μαζί με τους ομιλητές και τους μέντορες, ανταλλάσσοντας ιδέες, σκέψεις και εμπειρίες. Στα workshops που έλαβαν χώρα, 470 συμμετέχοντες πήραν συμβουλές για να δημιουργήσουν μια νεοφυής επιχείρηση, να μάθουν να σκέφτονται ομαδικά, οργανωτικά και πρωτοπόρα κάτω από δύσκολες συνθήκες, καθώς και να αντιμετωπίζουν τις προκλήσεις που μπορεί να συναντήσουν ως μελλοντικοί επιχειρηματίες.
Εντυπωσιακή ήταν και η συμμετοχή των εθελοντών, όπου χωρίς αυτούς δεν θα μπορούσε να ολοκληρωθεί επιτυχώς η διοργάνωση. Όλοι όσοι συμμετείχαν σε αυτή την προσπάθεια έδωσαν τον καλύτερο τους εαυτό, έμαθαν να δουλεύουν ομαδικά, βελτίωσαν τις δεξιότητες τους και πήραν μια μικρή γεύση για το τι θα αντιμετωπίσουν στον επαγγελματικό στίβο. Το σημαντικότερο όλων ότι ανταμείφθηκαν οι κόποι τους κι έλαβαν πίσω την ικανοποίηση από τα χαμόγελα και τις ευχαριστίες τόσο των ομιλητών όσο και του κοινού. Δέκα μέρες γεμάτες νεανικά χαμόγελα, πάθος για το επιχειρείν και ελπίδα για το μέλλον.
Ο Θάνος Παράσχος (Συνδιοργανωτής Startup Europe Week, Co-Founder του Youth Entrepreneurship Club) δήλωσε: “Ως οργανισμός με τις δράσεις μας, θέλουμε να αναδείξουμε τις ευκαιρίες και τη δυναμική της επιχειρηματικότητας τόσο στη θεωρία όσο και στην πράξη. Με το φετινό Startup Europe Week Crete, φέραμε σε κοινό τόπο ανθρώπους από διαφορετικά background που μπορούν να γίνουν παράδειγμα και να συνεργαστούν ώστε η Υψηλή Τεχνολογία που παράγεται στα ακαδημαϊκά ιδρύματα του νησιού να συνδεθούν με τα χαρακτηριστικά πλεονεκτήματα, Τουρισμό, Αγροδιατροφή. Η Κρήτη μπορεί να γίνει η Silicon Valley της Μεσογείου.”

For third year in a row the paneuropean conference of entrepreneurship, Startup Europe Week Crete, was held with great success, from the local ambassador Youth Entrepreneurship Club and the European Committee/Startup European Committee with co-organiser the Region of Crete.
Startup Europe Week Crete made a tour in Chania (2nd of March), in Rethymnon (3rd of March), in Agios Nikolaos (9th of March) and last stop for this journey was at the city of Heraklion in the 10th of March. With the aim to spread the message of entrepreneurship in the island of Crete.
The subject of the conference this year was “Developing the Startup ecosystem in Crete”. Attendees and speakers were inspired, did networking, shared experiences and created suggestions for the development of the startup ecosystem in Crete!
Specifically, Startup Europe Week Crete 2018 included speeches, panel of discussions, workshops, contests and private presentations to angel investors. Overall attended more than 1000 participants, 23 speakers, 60 volunteers, 20 mentors and held more than 25 hours of speakings and workshops. It is important to highlight that the conference was based in the action of the volunteers of Youth Entrepreneurship Club and the support of 50 local and national barriers.
Within the actions were expressed more than 100 new entrepreneurial ideas, that the attendees discussed with the speakers and the mentors, edited and developed, by exchanging ideas, thoughts and experiences. At the workshops that took place, the 470 participants took advices, on how to create a startup and to learn about team working, pioneering under tough circumstances as well as facing the challenges that may show up in their entrepreneurial career.
Impressive was the participation of the volunteers; without them we would not be able to complete successfully the conference. Everyone who participated in this action gave the best of themselves, learned how to cooperate in a team spirit, improved their skills and had a taste of what they are going to face in their future career. Most important of all, was the reward of the smiles and the thankful speakers and attendees. Ten days full of young smiles, passion for entrepreneurship and hope for the future.

Due to Startup Europe Week Crete 2018, we achieved to bring together people from different backgrounds who can collaborate and work together so as the high technology produced in the academic institutions of the island can be connected with the distinct advantages of Tourism and Agriculture. Crete can be the Silicon Valley of the Mediterranean.“
