Ανάμεσα στα άλλα χαρτιά που θα χρειαστεί να καταθέσετε στο Πανεπιστήμιο του εξωτερικού που υποβάλλετε αίτηση να σας δεχτεί για μεταπτυχιακό, είναι και το Motivation letter, δηλαδή μια επιστολή στην οποία αναγράφετε –όπως λέει και ο τίτλος- τους λόγους που το επιλέγετε.
Η επιστολή αυτή, πρέπει εκτός από την ευχέρειά σας στη γλώσσα, να αποδεικνύει και την ικανότητά σας να υποστηρίζετε τα επιχειρήματά σας ως προς την επιλογή του συγκεκριμένου Πανεπιστημίου.
Ακολουθεί ένα δείγμα μιας τέτοιας επιστολής, στην οποία ο υποψήφιος είναι Τεχνολόγος τροφίμων.
Όποιος το χρησιμοποιήσει, θα πρέπει να προσαρμόσει βεβαίως τα στοιχεία ανάλογα με την περίπτωσή του, αφού κάνει πρώτα μια έρευνα στο ίντερνετ για το τι προσφέρει το Πανεπιστήμιο που απευθύνεται, έτσι ώστε να τα συμπεριλάβει στην επιστολή. (πχ το συγκεκριμένο πανεπιστήμιο στο δείγμα προσφέρει πρακτική εξάσκηση σε επιχειρήσεις, κάτι που δεν είναι απαραίτητο να συμβαίνει πάντα).

I graduated the Technological Institute of …………., with mathematics, physics, biology, chemistry, as my majors and my Bachelor degree is in the fields of Fermented Foods Technology & Quality Control, Fruits and Vegetables Technology & Quality Control Food Additives and Sweeteners Technology & Quality Contol, Grain and Pastry Products Technology & Quality Control, Milk & Milk Products Technology & Quality Control.
Moreover, I have been practised and trained in the real working field by a big multinational company in Greece (………..) and achieving a significant experience which helped me determine my future career expectations.
Seeking for information, and after an extended research and serious consideration which took me as much time as necessary in order to reach a life decision, I find …………….. University as one of the ideal universities to further my study.
I have come to realize that taking a course in food technology and furthering it will help me in knowing better and new methods of preserving and manufacturing the food we use. ……. - An integrated programme of courses in food technology, varying from food
and ingredient functionality to food processing. This would give me the
opportunity to perceive foodstuff as a unit of different ingredients and the way
that the latter may interact during several processes. The outcome anticipated
would be deeper understanding of the way different types of products, which
are already available to the consumers, are made and even ideas of new
products. Also, a quality improvement of our company products could be
achieved by turning theory into action.
- Courses that could enhance managerial and marketing skills, knowledge which is of indisputable value in surviving at labour market nowadays.
- A bridge between the university and the industry is accomplished by the visits
to the industries so that students are provided with a unique opportunity to have an inside look to “how the world goes round”.
Last but not least, the idea of going around Europe being taught by the bests
and in the same time coming upon so many different cultures and people is
fascinating. I believe that living and studying in the Netherlands will give me the chance to expand my personal horizons in a multinational environment and also will offer me the opportunity to experience the views and the approach of well known professors on the scientific field I m interested in.
The chance to see the way of thinking of other people of other countries can make one think out of the box, find solutions to previously unresolved problems and see opportunities where others would see nothing at all or even ruins.
On top of that the students of the programme are tiles of a
multicultural mosaic, working together as team to achieve the best possible
result.
All in all, I would be proud of being part of a group of people from all around the world and collaborating for the best.
