Ever since Jon and I started BugSense our goal was to help mobile developers monitor, troubleshoot and finally improve their mobile apps. Soon enough we found out that the scale required to monitor hundreds of millions of mobile devices is a hard big data problem, and we invested heavily on tackling this challenge.
Three years later, I am pleased to announce that BugSense has signed an agreement to be acquired by Splunk, the leading platform for machine-generated big data. Splunk is the Big Data analytics leader and a pioneer in operational intelligence. Combining our mobile footprint and expertise with theSplunk platform will allow us to build an even better product. We are excited about joining Splunk given our common focus on machine data and Big Data.
One of the reasons the Splunk opportunity truly excites us is that we will be able to continue providing value to our existing customers. This is a key point in our choice to go forward with Splunk. With the support of the team and resources of Splunk, we’ll be able to move faster towards the realization of our vision of delivering an even better operational intelligence solution for mobile apps. Not to mention, we will deliver state of the art end-to-end monitoring!
